Divergent/Works: Sam Scott

Currently on view at The Harwood Museum of Art, Taos, NM, Divergent/Works: Sam Scott opened October 7, 2017 and continues through January 14, 2018.

His is one of four Divergent/Works exhibitions featuring artists pursuing very different styles - sublime and humble - while subscribing to the unique high desert aesthetic of Taos and northern New Mexico.

Beneath the Surface: Barbara Fracchia

Examining color and form both above and below the Pacific ocean, Barbara Fracchia's new oils are featured in Beneath the Surface, a solo show at Montserrat Contemporary Art Gallery, NY, NY, beginning October 6th through the 31st. Barbara is pictured here on opening night beside her work "Fishing for Answers."

The Teaching Studios of Art held its 5th Annual Plein Air Competition at Sagamore Hill on September 23 & 24

It was our pleasure to sponsor three prizes for this juried event celebrating the North Shore landscape at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site in Oyster Bay, NY.  

Tony Winters, the 1st place winner, is pictured here at work on his painting.

Devoted to teaching traditional techniques to artists of all ages, the Teaching Studios of Art in Oyster Bay offers classical art classes and workshops throughout the year on Long Island. Visit


Espial, a new series of paintings by Jane Swavely opened April 21, 2016 at A.I.R. Gallery. Suffused with the play of color, light, and space, this new body of work uses the language of romantic landscape painting as it shifts between zones of abstraction and narrative. On view in their Gallery 1 through May 22, and during DUMBO's First Thursday Art Walk May 5, 2016 from 6-8pm

Lisa Yuskavage at the Rose Art Museum

Opening September 12, LISA YUSKAVAGE: THE BROOD surveys 25 years of oil painting by the internationally acclaimed American painter Lisa Yuskavage. On view through December 13, 2015 in the Lois Foster Gallery of the Rose Art Museum, at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, her solo exhibition will travel next to the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis, MO, January 2016.

A new book, "Lisa Yuskavage: The Brood: Paintings 1991-2015," has been published by Rizzoli to accompany the retrospective show of her work.
