Jane Swavely: Jinx

Jinxa new series of paintings and fourth solo exhibition by Jane Swavely, opened Friday, November 16, 2018, at A.I.R. Gallery. Mining the history of abstraction, Swavely has produced hidden landscapes within the paintings, shifting perception, paring down, and removing context in order to evoke an emotive response. These images are constructed through energetic brushstrokes and abrasions, interweaved with the search of light from within color.

On view in Gallery 1 thru December 16th and during DUMBO's First Thursday Art Walk December 6, 2018, from 6-8pm. Located at 155 Plymouth St., Brooklyn, NY, A.I.R. Gallery is an artist-run organization advocating for women in the visual arts since 1972.
